Is it proper to define classes and methods BEFORE or AFTER your Main()?

The book I am using to study C# has always demonstrated code by creating classes and methods BEFORE the Main() is written. Now it suddenly has me writing out my Main() first and referring to methods and classes that I haven't been created yet in the code. I always assumed that the Main() was to be written after all other classes and methods were defined. Am I wrong? Does the order in which classes and methods are written make no difference? Is there any kind of unwritten rule that dictates which should be written first and when?
